Las Vegas Raiders minority owner and Fox Sports analyst Tom Brady was spotted in the team's coaching booth for the first time early in Monday's 20-9 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

The future Hall of Fame quarterback wore a headset and sat in the back row during the first quarter. Brady was approved for minority ownership in 2024. General manager John Spytek and head coach Pete Carroll consulted the three-time MVP about roster decisions this past offseason.

Offensive coordinator Chip Kelly said he speaks with the seven-time Super Bowl champion two to three times per week, according to ESPN's Ryan McFadden. Kelly said they go through film and the offensive game plan for the Raiders' upcoming opponent.

After the loss, Carroll said it's "not accurate" that Kelly speaks to Brady so frequently about the game plan.

"We have conversations," Carroll said postgame. "I talk to Tom, Chip talks to Tom regularly. We have a tremendous asset. And we all get along and respect each other. We just talk about life and football. He has great insight, so we're lucky to have him as an owner."

The NFL said Tuesday that "no policies prohibit an owner from sitting in the coaches' booth or wearing a headset," according to a statement obtained by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "Brady was sitting in the booth in his capacity as a limited partner."

The NFL eased some restrictions on Brady as a broadcaster this season, allowing him to participate remotely in production meetings that involve the coaches and select players. The 48-year-old wasn't permitted to attend those meetings at all last season.

"Tom continues to be prohibited from going to a team facility for practices or production meetings," the NFL's statement continued. "He may attend production meetings remotely but may not attend in person at the team facility or hotel. He may also conduct an interview off site with a player like he did last year a couple times, including for the Super Bowl."

Brady is scheduled to call Sunday's game between the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears. Las Vegas hosts the Bears on Sept. 28.
