Bengals' Taylor calls out Brown for postgame comments after Bears loss
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor took offense at running back Chase Brown's comments following Sunday's 47-42 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Brown expressed his frustration with the Bengals' defense postgame after the Bears scored a game-winning touchdown with under a minute remaining.
"We put the ball in the end zone and go up a point at the end, finish the f-----g game," Brown told reporters in the locker room Sunday, according to James Rapien of Bengalstalk.com. "Like, just end it. That's it. That's what we need to do. Just end the f-----g game."

Taylor, who has coached Brown since he entered the league as a fifth-round pick in 2023, called the running back's comments out of line but said he doesn't expect him to react that way again going forward.
"Not if you're not doing everything you can, on your own," Taylor said Monday, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer's Dave Clark. "And I've pointed it out with Chase. There was two big plays that we could've done better that would've led to points."
Taylor added: "I trust that that's a one-time thing, and we'll learn from that. That's not how we want to react, and one of our best players, one of our highest character players, I think, in moments of frustration said that, and I don't expect it to happen again."
The Bengals lost despite being the only team this year to record 10 plays of 20 yards or more in a game. Of the five outings this season in which an offense eclipsed 500 yards in a single contest, three came against Cincinnati, according to The Ringer's Sheil Kapadia.
Although the Bengals rank dead last in EPA/play and are allowing the most points per game, Taylor said he doesn't plan to make any defensive coaching changes this season. Al Golden is in his first year under Taylor after replacing long-time defensive coordinator Lou Anuromo, who the club fired following the 2024 campaign.
"He's a great football coach," Taylor said of Golden, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer's Kelsey Conway. "He's doing everything he can to uncover every single stone to make us play better. We're all sick of the way these games have gone, him probably as much as anybody else on this planet."
The 3-6 Bengals are on their bye in Week 10 before returning to action on Nov. 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
