Report: Eagles' Carter week-to-week after undergoing shoulder procedure
Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter won't play on Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Chargers and is considered week-to-week after undergoing a procedure on both of his shoulders, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Carter is aiming to be as close to fully healthy as possible for a playoff run, Schefter added.
The Pro Bowler wasn't on the injury report leading up to last week's loss to the Chicago Bears, but defensive coordinator Vic Fangio told reporters Wednesday that he was playing through an injury.
"(Carter) does have a shoulder issue. He's been playing with it - late in the game, he had a great game with it, but yeah, it's definitely something there," Fangio said, according to Bleeding Green Nation's Alex Chassen.
Carter has played over 85% of the defensive snaps this season while totaling 32 tackles, 11 quarterback hits, and two sacks. His 27 pressures are the most among all Eagles defensive tackles, according to Next Gen Stats.
Philadelphia has lost back-to-back games and is 8-4 heading into Monday's meeting with the 8-4 Chargers.
