Report: Texans receiving trade calls on Collins
Teams have called the Houston Texans to inquire about trading for wide receiver Nico Collins, sources told NFL Insider Jordan Schultz.
However, Houston is unlikely to part ways with Collins, Schultz adds.
Collins is under contract through the 2027 season after signing a three-year extension worth up to $75 million in May 2024. He's guaranteed $20 million next season, and his cap hit is more than $27 million each of the next two years.
The 27-year-old is the 18th-highest-paid wideout in the league, behind Jameson Williams, Alec Pierce, and DJ Moore, among others. Jaxon Smith-Njigba reset the wide receiver market this offseason by signing a four-year, $168-million extension in March.
Collins is coming off a campaign in which he produced 1,117 receiving yards and six touchdowns, his third consecutive season with 1,000-plus yards. However, he missed the Texans' divisional-round loss to the New England Patriots with an injury and has sat out 19 regular-season games during his five-year career.
Houston selected wideouts Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel on Day 2 of last year's draft. The team is also expecting Tank Dell to return from a significant knee injury suffered in December 2024, which sidelined him for all of 2025.
The Texans hold the No. 28 pick in Thursday's first round.
