Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane said the team turned down trade calls about wide receiver Keon Coleman earlier this offseason.

"We shut those down. Our intention is for Keon to be here, so the word was out, so no calls this weekend," Beane told Sal Capaccio Monday on WGR-550 radio.

"We've hit the reset button with him, and hopefully, the fan base and everyone is behind him. I think his best year is yet to come here in 2026."

Coleman was the subject of trade rumors after owner Terry Pegula told reporters in January that Buffalo's previous coaching staff, not Beane, pushed to select the wideout in the second round of the 2024 draft.

The 22-year-old has struggled, posting 67 receptions for 960 yards and eight touchdowns through 26 career NFL games. Out of 60 wide receivers who've played at least 1,100 offensive snaps over the last two seasons, Coleman ranks 49th in receiving yards and 53rd in catches, according to TruMedia.

Coleman was also disciplined for off-field issues by former head coach Sean McDermott. He was benched for the first quarter of a game during his rookie campaign, and he was a healthy scratch for four contests last year for being late to a team meeting.

New head coach Joe Brady and Beane have expressed their belief that Coleman can take a big leap in his third season.

"Keon, it's not lip service," Beane said Friday during the draft, according to ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg. "We're excited about Keon, and he's, the first few weeks here, it's been very, very positive. And I think you guys will see that in time, and proud of what he's done."

The Bills reshaped their wide receiver room this offseason, trading for D.J. Moore from the Chicago Bears. Buffalo also selected UConn wideout Skyler Bell, a finalist for the 2025 Biletnikoff Award, in the fourth round.
