The Cleveland Browns are hosting free-agent defensive end Jadeveon Clowney ahead of what could be a reunion, a source told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
The 33-year-old previously played two seasons with the Browns (2021-22), recording 15 tackles for loss and 11 sacks.
Last season, Clowney produced 12 TFLs and 8.5 sacks in his lone campaign as a member of the Dallas Cowboys.
Although Todd Monken only became the team's head coach this offseason, he, too, would be renewing a partnership with the veteran pass-rusher. The pair worked together while with the Baltimore Ravens, whom Monken served as the offensive coordinator for, during the 2023 season.
Cleveland is looking to bolster its depth at edge rusher after trading star Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams in June. Jared Verse, who joined the Browns as part of the deal, is expected to headline the team's pass rush, which features Julian Okwara and Alex Wright.
Clowney, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 draft, has recorded 66.5 career sacks over 12 seasons. He's suited up for seven franchises in total, including the Houston Texans, with whom he began his career and played five seasons with.
