Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Laquon Treadwell is keeping his No. 13 jersey, declining to give it to recent signing Keenan Allen.
"Me and Keenan spoke probably three times already," Treadwell said Wednesday, per The Athletic's James Boyd. "He was just like, he's not really worried about it. And like I told him, 'I respect the game. I know what you did in the number.' Me and my family, we did a lot of praying about it as well. So, he was cool with me keeping the number."
Allen wore No. 13 throughout his 13-year NFL career with the Los Angeles Chargers and Chicago Bears, but donned No. 10 this preseason after signing with the Colts in August. The six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver ranks 13th in NFL history with 1,055 receptions.
"We're just going to play it by ear," Allen said Aug. 19, according to Indianapolis Star's Joel A. Erickson. "(Treadwell) is a vet too, so I definitely don't want to come in stepping on toes."
Allen added that the two would "talk about it after the preseason."
Treadwell began wearing No. 13 with the Colts last year. He first used No. 7 in Indianapolis in 2024 before switching to No. 17 when the Colts signed cornerback Charvarius Ward. He settled on No. 13 when quarterback Daniel Jones joined Indy.
The 31-year-old journeyman has used seven numbers in 10 NFL seasons across stints with six organizations. Treadwell appeared in 10 games last campaign with the Colts but had no receptions or targets.
Allen is expected to be available for Week 1 despite being arrested Sunday on drunk driving charges.
