The Seattle Seahawks ruled out quarterback Sam Darnold for the remainder of Wednesday's season opener against the New England Patriots after he suffered a hip injury on the first drive.
Darnold went to the medical tent after the injury and was seen limping. He then headed to the locker room before being ruled out just ahead of halftime.

Darnold appeared to injure his hip when he was sacked on third down during the Seahawks' opening series. He completed one of his two pass attempts for 13 yards prior to exiting.
Drew Lock took over after Darnold's exit. Jalen Milroe is the Seahawks' emergency third quarterback behind Lock.
Wednesday's matchup is a rematch of Super Bowl LX in which the Seahawks defeated the Patriots.
