The Denver Broncos still have a "high level of confidence and comfort" in offensive coordinator Davis Webb as play-caller entering Week 2, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Denver's offense struggled during a 31-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1, managing 176 yards from scrimmage. Quarterback Bo Nix fumbled three times, threw an interception, and was sacked a career-high four times.
Webb was promoted from quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator in February and took over play-calling duties from head coach Sean Payton.
Payton stood up for Webb following the Week 1 loss.
"I think that game didn't go for any of us as we would've hoped," Payton said Thursday. "Right? I mean, I said in the meeting this morning: There was dirt on a ton of people's hands, starting with me.
"So we've got to learn from that. It's a quick turnaround, you can't get to the next game quick enough, and I'm sure it's the same way for (Webb)."
The Broncos host the Jacksonville Jaguars at 4:05 p.m. ET on Sunday.
