Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson has a chance to play in Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Miami Dolphins after he was diagnosed with an ankle sprain, ESPN's Ian Rapoport reports.
Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell confirmed the injury in his press conference Monday, telling reporters that the team got "good news" regarding Jefferson's injury.
O'Connell added that the wideout avoided a long-term injury and his status for Week 4 will come down to how fast he progresses throughout the week and the amount of swelling on his ankle.
Jefferson went to the medical tent - and then the locker room - during the second quarter of this past weekend's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He had two catches for 32 yards before the injury.
A four-time Pro Bowl receiver, Jefferson leads the Vikings with 179 yards this season. The 27-year-old has played every game since the start of the 2024 campaign.
The 3-0 Vikings sit atop the NFC North.
