Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn ruled out quarterback Jayden Daniels for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic.

Marcus Mariota will start a second consecutive game in place of Daniels, who is still recovering from a dislocated elbow.

There was some hope that Daniels could be back for the matchup against the Colts after he practiced on a limited basis throughout the week with a brace on his left elbow. Daniels said he wasn't worried about worsening the injury by doing so, stating Thursday, "That's what the brace is for. If I had that concern, I would have got surgery."

Mariota led the Commanders to their first win of the season last week, stunning the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks 33-31. He threw for three touchdowns and no interceptions while his defense intercepted Sam Darnold twice.

Mariota will face a Colts defense that has surrendered more yardage than any NFL team this season. Indianapolis ranks 29th in points allowed.

Sunday's game between the 1-2 Commanders and 1-2 Colts takes place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London with kickoff scheduled for 9:30 a.m. ET.
