Baltimore Ravens pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans after undergoing a procedure to fix his injured finger, head coach Jesse Minter announced Friday.
Minter said Hendrickson's absence will be "very short term."
The veteran has been dealing with the injury since Week 1 and hadn't missed a game, but he'd only recorded one sack through three contests.
Minter added that the Ravens elected for Hendrickson to have the surgery now because it was best for the team's long-term outlook.
The Ravens signed Hendrickson to a four-year, $112-million contract in free agency this past offseason.
Baltimore is 2-1 but has allowed 26 points per game, 21st in the NFL, while totaling six sacks.
