Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams returned to practice Friday for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 2.

Williams was listed as a limited participant and received a questionable designation on the team's injury report for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

However, Bears head coach Ben Johnson said Monday that Tyson Bagent will start at quarterback for the second straight game. Bagent completed 25 of 34 passes for 268 yards in last week's win as he replaced Case Keenum, who led Chicago to a Week 3 victory with Williams sidelined.

Williams wasn't placed on injured reserve after being carted off in the Bears' Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He'd previously started all 34 games since entering the league as the first overall pick in 2024.

"He's right on track," Johnson said of Williams on Friday, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin. "We've got him throwing a little bit the other day, and we've got a progression set up for what that looks like. So, to be determined how long it's going to be."

Sunday marks the first meeting of the season between the NFC North rivals. They split the regular-season series in 2025, but Chicago defeated Green Bay in the wild-card round of the playoffs.
