Houston Texans running back David Montgomery is considered week-to-week with a groin injury, head coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Montgomery exited Sunday's 26-3 win over the Tennessee Titans early in the second quarter before walking to the locker room with a minor limp. He was deemed questionable to return but ultimately didn't see the field again, finishing with five carries for 11 yards.

Ryans added that Woody Marks will step in for the injured Montgomery. The second-year back produced 85 scrimmage yards against the Titans, including 62 rushing yards on a season-high 15 attempts.
"Dynamic. Will carry the load for us," Ryans said of Marks, courtesy of Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston.
Houston acquired the 29-year-old from the Detroit Lions in March in exchange for center Juice Scruggs, a fourth-round pick in the 2026 draft, and a seventh-rounder in 2027. However, he's struggled with the Texans after recording three total touchdowns and 60 rushing yards in his team debut - a Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
In four appearances since, Montgomery has yet to score another touchdown. He's also averaging just 2.4 yards per carry on eight attempts per game.
