Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey believes no other quarterback faces the same level of "unfair treatment" as teammate Lamar Jackson.
"It seems like Lamar's the only quarterback who kind of gets the slander that he gets anytime anything is going on," Humphrey said of Jackson, who's missed the last two games due to an ankle injury, according to Morgan Adsit of Fox Baltimore.
"I feel like you just don't see these same articles; you don't see these same headlines. I mean, I'm in the hot tub, and it's this, that, and the third. Unfair treatment."
Although Humphrey didn't specify the slander he meant, the four-time Pro Bowler suggested that Jackson's decision to forgo an agent may influence how the media portrays the signal-caller.
"I don't know if it's because of a lack of agent or what, that no one can kind of defend him," Humphrey said. "I do know this: if Lamar Jackson can play, if he's healthy enough to play, he will play."
Jackson was limited in practice Wednesday and returned to the field Thursday with his teammates. His status for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals is unknown.
Lamar Jackson moved around well during Thursday’s media viewing and didn’t favor his sprained left ankle at all. During warmups (with no defenders), Jackson made a couple nice deep throws to LaJohntay Wester and Rashod Bateman. https://t.co/cuIT0o6OC1

A two-time NFL MVP, Jackson started hot before injuring his ankle in a Week 4 win over the Tennessee Titans. He's completed a career-high 70.8% of his passes for 967 yards, six touchdowns, and only one interception. His 10.1 yards per attempt and 119.6 passer rating would also mark personal bests.
The 4-2 Ravens have gone 1-1 in the two games Jackson has missed this season. If he can't play Sunday, Tyler Huntley would be in line for his third straight start.
