The Carolina Hurricanes are listening to trade offers for forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi, reports Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

Kotkaniemi has only two goals and six points in 25 games this season, and he was left off Finland's Olympic roster. He's averaging a career-low 11:08 of ice time and has been a healthy scratch multiple times.

The 25-year-old is signed through the 2029-30 campaign at a $4.82-million cap hit.

The Hurricanes offer-sheeted Kotkaniemi in 2021, landing the former third overall pick from the Montreal Canadiens for first- and third-round picks in compensation.

Carolina offered Kotkaniemi to the Los Angeles Kings for Phillip Danault and to the Vancouver Canucks as part of a potential package for Quinn Hughes, reports Friedman.

Kotkaniemi has 78 goals and 200 points in 501 career games with the Canadiens and Hurricanes. He notched a career-high 18 goals and 43 points in the 2018-19 campaign.
