The Vegas Golden Knights had a pair of goals taken off the board early in the second period of Saturday's Game 3 against the Carolina Hurricanes.

First, Mark Stone's icebreaker was overturned after a successful coach's challenge by Rod Brind'Amour.

Just over three minutes later, Jack Eichel's goal was negated after Brind'Amour's challenge confirmed goaltender interference by Ivan Barbshev.

Hurricanes netminder Frederik Andersen stayed in the game after the collision.

Coach's challenges have been a recurring theme early in the Stanley Cup Final. John Tortorella's failed challenge late in Game 2 led to a go-ahead goal by the Hurricanes on the ensuing power play, and the call was a main talking point after Carolina went on to win the contest.
