Parekh sets Canadian record for most points by D-man at single WJHC

Calgary Flames prospect Zayne Parekh set a new benchmark for points by a Canadian defenseman at a single world juniors.

Parekh accomplished the feat with a secondary assist on Canada's fourth goal during Monday's bronze-medal game against Finland, his 13th point of the tournament.

He tied the record earlier in the contest with a bar-down snipe.

Alex Pietrangelo and Bryan McCabe previously shared the record.

Sweden's Peter Andersson owns the tournament record for most points by a defenseman with 14 in 1985.

The Calgary Flames drafted Parekh ninth overall in 2024. The Markham, Ontario, native already has 12 NHL games under his belt.
