Latest transfer news and rumors: Spurs to back Frank with £145M splurge

The transfer window may be closed, but the rumor mill never stops. Check in every day for the latest transfer buzz around the soccer world.

Top story: Tottenham on the attack

Tottenham Hotspur will strongly back Thomas Frank in the January transfer market despite fans expressing displeasure with some of the team's recent performances. Spurs' busy recruitment drive in the summer included the arrivals of attackers Randal Kolo Muani, Mohammed Kudus, and Xavi Simons, but Frank would still like more pace and a greater clinical edge in his frontline.

So, the club's hierarchy is willing to bankroll a huge £145-million pursuit for Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo - who has a £65-million release clause this winter - and FC Porto's Samu Aghehowa. Collectively, the two forwards have 12 goals and four assists in league football this season. (TEAMtalk)
