The Atlanta Braves announced outfielder Jurickson Profar departed Saturday's spring game against the Pittsburgh Pirates with a jammed left wrist after attempting a diving catch in the fourth inning.
Profar's initial X-rays were negative, and a CT scan conducted Sunday showed a bone bruise, according to MLB.com's Mark Bowman. Profar is expected to be ready for Opening Day.
The Braves signed the 2024 All-Star to a three-year, $42-million contract in late January to become their starting left fielder.
The 32-year-old broke out with 24 homers, 85 RBIs, and an .839 OPS over 158 games with the San Diego Padres last season before testing free agency.
