The Toronto Blue Jays are promoting top prospect Trey Yesavage to the major-league roster, sources told Sportsnet's Shi Davidi and Ben Nicholson-Smith.

Although Yesavage may not be active until Monday, he's expected to join the team Sunday in Toronto, Davidi and Nicholson-Smith add.

The Blue Jays selected Yesavage in the first round of the 2024 draft after a terrific college career at East Carolina.

The 22-year-old right-hander has dominated minor-league hitting this season, recording a 3.12 ERA and 14.7 K/9 in 98 innings across multiple levels after beginning the campaign at Low-A Dunedin.

Yesavage appeared in six games - four starts - for Triple-A Buffalo, logging a 3.63 ERA and 13.5 K/9 in 17 1/3 innings.
