The Sacramento Kings are apparently considering a veteran guard for their final roster spot.
The Kings had discussions with free agents Russell Westbrook and Victor Oladipo, sources told ESPN's Anthony Slater.
Westbrook joined Sacramento on a veteran's minimum deal last offseason. The 37-year-old averaged 15.2 points, 6.7 assists, 5.4 boards, and 1.3 steals across 64 appearances, including 58 starts, in 2025-26.
The Kings believe that Westbrook's disciplined approach and habits could benefit rookie guard Darius Acuff Jr., Slater reports.
Oladipo last played in the NBA during the 2022-23 season with the Miami Heat. The two-time All-Star ruptured a quad tendon in his right knee in January 2019 and has been limited to 102 appearances in the subsequent four seasons due to various injuries.
Kings general manager Scott Perry and assistant general manager BJ Armstrong attended Oladipo's workout in front of NBA scouts in Las Vegas in July, and he later visited Sacramento for a private workout, sources told Slater.
The Kings went 22-60 last season and finished 15 games back of the West's final play-in tournament spot.
