McDaniel: Dolphins not planning on trading Hill after WR's cryptic posts
Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill posted multiple messages on social media Tuesday, including a "peace out" emoji, sparking speculation about Hill's potential future in Miami.
Head coach Mike McDaniel downplayed the posts Monday.
"Tyreek has been in the building often," McDaniel said, according to Palm Beach Post's Joe Schad. "Tyreek is known for some antics on social media. We're in a good spot with Tyreek."
McDaniel added that Miami is not planning to trade the veteran wideout, but wouldn't definitively say whether a trade could happen in the future, per David Durones of the Sun Sentinel.
"I mean, I can certainly say with certainty that at this certain moment," the head coach quipped. "You know, a lot of things can happen in the National Football League, so you throw absolutes out there, and then - 'Hey, you said this!'"
Hill also posted Monday it's a "false narrative" that he would welcome a trade to a playoff contender.
Following the Dolphins' final game of the season, Hill told reporters he was open to a trade and wanted out of the organization. However, he later walked back his comments and said frustration with how the campaign went led to his postgame rant.
The 31-year-old is under contract with Miami through the 2026 season. He's been with the Dolphins since being acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022.
"We are fully planning to move forward as a better version of our relationship with Tyreek and the Miami Dolphins," McDaniel said. "I have no reason to think otherwise."
Hill has earned two first-team All-Pro nominations since joining the Dolphins. He has 11,098 receiving yards and 82 touchdowns in 141 career contests.
