Lamb: Parsons will remain with Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb doesn't expect Micah Parsons to go anywhere despite the disgruntled pass-rusher's recent trade request.
"I feel like he's going to be here," Lamb said about Parsons on Friday, according to ESPN's Todd Archer. "The (trade request) reaction was crazy. (The extension process) is a little disappointing, but it is what it is. You gotta do what you gotta do, and he's gotta do what's best for him, his family."
Parsons recently requested a trade from the Cowboys, with the two sides unable to agree on a contract extension. The 26-year-old is in the fifth and final year of his rookie deal.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones quickly shut down any discussion of moving the team's top defensive player following the request. However, he has said he's not optimistic about Parsons playing in Dallas' season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 4.
Lamb, who faced his own contract saga last year, seemingly criticized the Cowboys in a social media post on Aug. 1, saying they should reward Parsons.
Dallas has become known for not rushing to sign its top players to long-term deals. Lamb held out of the team's training camp before inking a four-year, $136-million extension weeks before the start of the 2024 regular season.
The disgruntled Parsons remains with the Cowboys at camp, but the All-Pro defender reportedly missed Thursday's practice due to back tightness.
