The Seattle Seahawks signed reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba to a four-year, $168.6-million extension, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Smith-Njigba's reported new agreement would make him the highest-paid receiver in NFL history at an average of $42.15 million per year. The deal also includes over $120 million in guaranteed money, adds Schefter.

The star wideout's extension comes days after the Seahawks picked up the fifth-year options on the rookie deals of Smith-Njigba and cornerback Devon Witherspoon. Smith-Njigba will now be under contract with Seattle through the 2031 season.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a stellar 2025 campaign, catching 119 passes for a league-leading 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns to earn a first-team All-Pro nod.

Smith-Njigba also tallied 17 receptions for 199 yards and two scores during Seattle's Super Bowl LX title run.

Seattle continues to reward some of its recent draft picks with lucrative extensions. Left tackle Charles Cross signed a four-year, $104.4-million extension in January. The Seahawks are now expected to prioritize extension negotiations with Witherspoon.

The wide receiver market jumped again with Smith-Njigba's new agreement. Monday's deal eclipses the $40.2-million average annual value of the contract Ja'Marr Chase signed in March 2025. Los Angeles Rams standout Puka Nacua, who is eligible for an extension this offseason, could reset the market at the position again.
