Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson said Monday on ESPN 100 that Caleb Williams is expected to be week-to-week with a hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday's 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Tom Pelissero of The Ringer reported earlier Monday that Williams avoided a major hamstring injury. The Bears reportedly aren't ruling Williams out for their Week 3 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.
However, Johnson noted that Williams will "likely" miss some time, per Schefter.
Williams pulled up while scrambling on a first-down play in the fourth quarter. He was visibly in pain and had to be carted to the locker room.
Johnson didn't provide much of an update after the game but noted that Williams was in good spirits.
Williams struggled Sunday, completing 15 of 26 passes for 138 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. However, he was stellar in Chicago's 59-37 Week 1 victory, throwing for two touchdowns and 269 yards while completing 72.4% of his passes.
If Williams can't play, Tyson Bagent will start for Chicago.
