Caps' Dubois issued match penalty for intent to injure Blues' Thomas

Washington Capitals forward Pierre-Luc Dubois was issued a match penalty for intent to injure against St. Louis Blues forward Robert Thomas on Tuesday.
Dubois slammed Thomas down to the ice in the third period. Thomas was also assessed a minor penalty for interference.

Thomas left the game but passed concussion protocol and is healthy, Blues head coach Jim Montgomery said postgame.
A match penalty results in an automatic suspension pending review from the Department of Player Safety.
Dubois had nine points and four penalty minutes in 19 games entering Tuesday's contest.
Thomas leads St. Louis with 16 goals and 46 points in 52 games.
