The Florida Panthers traded forward Mackie Samoskevich to the Seattle Kraken for a first-round pick in the 2026 draft and a conditional 2027 second-rounder, the teams announced Sunday.

The first-rounder headed to Florida is the No. 25 selection in the upcoming draft, which begins Friday. The selection originally belonged to the Tampa Bay Lightning before Seattle acquired it in last year's Yanni Gourde trade.

Samoskevich, 23, scored 12 goals and added 20 assists in 77 games last season, his third NHL campaign.

"For me, there's the fact that, at such a young age, he's been able to win a Stanley Cup already, and he's been a part of a very successful organization in Florida," Kraken general manager Jason Botterill said in a statement. "I just love his age, love his speed, and I love his shot. So, I think he'll fit in very well with the style of play that we're trying to play on an everyday basis here."

Samoskevich has 27 goals and 36 assists in 156 career games.

The Kraken still hold the No. 7 pick in Friday's first round.
