Report: Cowboys acquiring Gary from Packers
The Green Bay Packers are finalizing a trade to send veteran edge rusher Rashan Gary to the Dallas Cowboys, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Green Bay will receive a fourth-round pick in 2027 as part of the deal, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The move comes days after Gary's Instagram account hinted at his exit from Green Bay in a since-deleted post.
Gary has spent the last seven seasons with the Packers, who drafted him 12th overall in 2019.
The 28-year-old has never topped double-digit sacks in a season but earned a Pro Bowl berth in 2024 after registering 7.5 sacks to go along with a career-high nine tackles for loss. He also had 7.5 sacks in 2025.
Gary's single-season high in sacks is 9.5, set in 2021.
The Michigan product provides experience and immediate depth to a Cowboys defense looking for a spark following a disappointing 2025 campaign.
