Mitch Marner is the new favorite to win the Conn Smythe Trophy after the Golden Knights took a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Avalanche in the Western Conference Final.
Marner vaulted over Nathan MacKinnon and Frederik Andersen on the oddsboard at theScore Bet following Vegas' 3-1 victory Friday night. The first-year Golden Knight leads the playoffs with 19 points in 14 games.

Marner was held off the scoresheet in Game 2, but his new position atop the oddsboard is tied directly to the Golden Knights' increased chances of hoisting the Stanley Cup for the second time in the franchise's short history.
Vegas is a +200 co-favorite to win it all, alongside the Hurricanes, who lost Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final to the Canadiens on Thursday. The Golden Knights were +600 to win the Cup entering their series against the Avs and +1200 before the postseason began.
They now head back to Vegas as heavy -240 favorites to complete the upset and win the Western Conference Final.
The Avalanche, meanwhile, are clearly feeling the effects of Cale Makar's absence. The two-time Norris Trophy winner has missed both games of the series due to an upper-body injury. His status for Sunday's Game 3 remains uncertain.
Colorado had been considered the Stanley Cup favorite all season but now finds itself with the worst odds of the remaining four teams at +375.
